In all honesty, when I woke this morning, this wasn’t the post I had in mind to write. Then my mum came into my room and told me that last night she recorded a movie that I might want to watch too. I just finished it, and I knew I had to put my thoughts on paper, the film is Midnight Sun which was released in 2018. Since I watched it in Italian, it had the title translated.
With sharing my thoughts, it might spoil some of the movie, so you been warned. We meet Katie Price, which is played by Bella Thorne. Katie Price lives with a life-threatening sensitivity to sunlight caused by the rare genetic condition, xeroderma pigmentosum (XP). After doing a quick search online that xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a real condition. So, yea I learned about a disease that I didn’t know anything about among other things.
It reminds me of the book and movie Everything, Everything because both girls are housebound and that changes when a love interest enters the scene. I connected with Katie because she uses music to keep her alive, and I use writing like that. At times you don’t know what to do when you have a condition of taking a risk and hoping you won’t have to pay for it later. It reminded me that I need to live, not just exist.
