When I saw this post, I knew I had to talk about it. Little MacKenzie is a tiny Chihuahua who only weighs four pounds; nevertheless, she has a big heart full of love. Even if this world wasn’t fair to her from the get-go. Being that she was born with a cleft palate and contracting aspiration pneumonia which nearly took her life as a newborn. However, Little MacKenzie being the fighter that she is, fought this battle and won.
Nowadays, she spends her day comforting and care for baby rescue animals born with special needs. This teeny MacKenzie has now been recognized especially. After more than a million votes by the American public and the deliberations of a panel of celebrity animal lovers and dog experts, this awesome pup was given the award of The American Humane Hero Dog Award 2020.
Dr Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane, said:
“These heroic canines have gone above and beyond the call of duty, saving lives on the battlefield, comforting the ill and aged, and reminding us of the powerful, age-old bond between animals and people.”
This little pup teaches us two things a lesson in not giving up with life gets hard and how to have empathy for the people around us.
