For years and years
You have been there
With your paw
Right beside me
When I’m happy and sad
Watched me grow into
The man that I am today
Now that
You are getting older
Nowadays, you put your head
On my stomach
And look me
In the eye
As if to tell me
When I can’t be
No longer with you
I, your best friend
Will still lookout
For you
